For our first season 3 interview, Kevin sits down with Peter Shankman, the author of “Can We Do That?” and “Customer Service: New Rules for a Social Media World”. Peter, who has been credited with re-inventing the art of networking, tells us the story of how he got his start as a founding editor of AOL News, the value of learning by doing in a trial by fire environment, and the importance of always taking the first meeting. He talks to us about the different worlds of social media, from big brands to small business, and the common ground in them all. While stressing the privilege of having an online following, he shares his thoughts on how to grow it by focusing on, catering to, and engaging the audience you already have.
